There are several hacking methods and techniques by which hackers hack any system, website,etc. which are known as hacking attacks.
To become a hacker it is must to be well familiar with these attacks. Some of the famous and useful attacks are listed below:-
#1) PHISHING:- This attack is generally used to steal the sensitive informations such as username and with the help of fraudulent webpage or website which seems legitimate but actually a trap .
#2) DDOS/DOS:- This attack is commonly of two types:-
(I) DDOS(Distributed denial of service attack) : Its a type of hacking attack in which the attacker uses several computers which work together at the same time for sending packages to targeted website to freeze or crash it.
(II) DOS(Denial of service attack) : It works same as the DDOS attack. The only difference that comes is in place of many computers, the attacker uses a single device or computer to send packages to targeted website to freeze or crash it.
#3) BRUTEFORCE ATTACK:- In this type of attack , the hacker uses any script , program or his/her technical skills to generate consecutive and regular guesses in order to crack the password. This type of method is known as try-and-error method.
#4) DICTIONARY ATTACK:- The attacker uses a already made list of possible passwords or usernames in place of generating it to crack any password or username . It generally takes a lot of time.
#5) SPIDERING:- Its a type of information gathering attack in which the attacker uses his/her skills to first collect informations about the organization or person and then use it in place of username of password to gain unauthorised access.
#6) SNIFFING:- This attack is used to capture the data or information that is being transmitted over any network . This attack can be used to capture sensitive information such as passwords , credit card information or any personal information about the victim.
#7) MAC FLOODING:- Mac flooding is a network sniffing technique that floods the switch MAC table with fake MAC address. This changes the switch to hub by which we can easily do sniffing.
#8) DIREACTORY TRANSVERSAL ATTACKS:- These type of attacks exploit the bugs in the web server to gain unauthorised access to files and folders that are not in public domain.
#9) DOMAIN NAME SYSTEM HIIJACKING:- The DNS setting are changed to attacker's point. All traffic that was supposed to be sent to the web server is redirected to the wrong one.
#10) DEFACEMENT:- With this type of attack , a attacker replaces the organization's website with a different page that contains the hacker's message.
